Correction: a settlement bug had inflated our all-time ROI by about six points

Between 1 and 2 August our all-time ROI on the raw all-bets basis moved from about -8% to +1%. That was not us winning. Two things happened. First, a fix on 1 August taught the price parser to read starting prices carrying an "F" favourite marker — correct in itself, but it made three June dutch bets' starting prices readable for the first time, and our Best Odds Guaranteed settlement then paid each of those bets' ENTIRE stake at the winning leg's price. A dutch splits one stake across several horses, so that credited money to legs that lost: on a bet that really made £4.46 it booked £22.30. Across the three bets it invented 34 points of profit that never existed. Second, a routine overnight job that fills in missing starting prices — documented as annotation that never changes a result, and it doesn't — added 92 of them, and because BOG settles at the better of the price taken or the starting price, that moved historical P&L too. That part is real arithmetic, but it changed published figures without being announced, which is what this entry is for. Best Odds Guaranteed is no longer applied to dutch bets at all: it is a per-leg idea and we only store one price per bet, so until we store one per leg the honest settlement is the combined price we actually took. Dutch bets are also now excluded from our closing-line and steamer/drifter stats, where a combined price was being compared against a single horse's starting price. The corrected all-time figure on that basis is about -5%. Nothing about which horses we tipped, at what price, or how they finished has changed — only the arithmetic applied to them.

Void races now show as "Void", instead of vanishing

When a race is abandoned or made void, a tipped pick from it used to either drop off the Top Picks list or show a raced/lost badge it didn't deserve. A void pick now keeps its place on the card with a clear "Void · stake back" badge (distinct from an individual non-runner), so the day's card stays honest about what actually happened.

Confidence is now measured separately for shorter and longer prices

The AI-estimate percentage adds a measured "edge" on top of each pick's market price — previously one flat number per conviction tier regardless of price. Calibration data showed that flat number was propped up by short-priced winners while 5/2+ picks in the same tier won at barely a third of their displayed rate (2 from 16). The edge is now measured separately for picks below and above 5/2, so longer-priced picks get an honestly-measured (currently lower) number — which also means some of them no longer qualify as Value Picks or receive real auto-bet money. Applies to new picks from 24 July; the historical record is untouched.

You can now log a free bet in My Bets

The Log-your-bet modal now has a Free Bet toggle for stake-not-returned free bets: a loser costs £0, a winner keeps winnings only, and it counts as £0 outlay toward your ROI — matching how a real free bet actually pays out. Threaded through settlement, your account stats, and shareable bet cards.

Pick cards now show a live "now +X%" value readout

The Value stat used to freeze at the morning price — the drift arrow showed a price had moved, but never what that did to the value claim itself. Cards now show a small live suffix next to Value (e.g. "now +1%") comparing the published AI estimate against the current best price: red if the value's gone, orange if it's meaningfully reduced, green if it's held or grown.

New: AI-estimate calibration table

A new table shows the AI's displayed confidence percentage banded against the real win rate at that band, using every published pick — a distinct, more granular check than the existing tier (STRONG/GOOD/MARGINAL) calibration, and one that includes thin or empty bands rather than hiding them.

Value Picks now require full self-consistency agreement

PostTime already reruns its own reasoning on every candidate pick and only proceeds on agreement — a strategic review found that picks scraping through on a bare majority (rather than full agreement) returned -31% ROI (n=62) against +35% for full-agreement picks (n=66). Bare-majority picks still publish and settle as normal tips, but no longer count as a Value Pick: not funded with real money, not a Top Pick, not counted in CLV/insights, not in the tracked AI Value portfolio.

SEO audit: fixed index-leak guards and JSON-LD accuracy

A pass over structured data and indexing rules closed several issues search engines could otherwise pick up: pages that shouldn't be indexed, inaccurate structured-data fields, and a handful of orphaned pages with no internal links pointing to them.

New: Best Odds Board on every race

Every race now has a per-runner odds board — one row per horse, the single best price boxed with a one-tap link to back it, your tipped pick pinned to the top. Sorted shortest-price-first like a bookmaker board, with a market-overround % shown once every runner is priced. Backed by 8 newly registered bookmakers to widen coverage.

Fixed 7 push notification issues

Pre-race reminders were going out for every tip (not just today's actual Value Picks) with a stale morning price baked into the wording — now scoped to the real published Value set with a price-free heads-up instead. Fixed a bug where a temporarily failed send could be marked as sent and never retried, widened the pre-race alert window so cron timing jitter can't skip a race, and added an "Add to Home Screen" prompt for iOS, which can't otherwise receive push at all.

Tip generation now runs every meeting concurrently

Meetings used to generate one at a time; they now run in parallel (capped to stay within Anthropic's rate limits), cutting the wall-clock time a busy card takes to produce.

Removed the Buy Me a Coffee links

Taken off the footer, results page and race cards.

Tips now generate earlier and reveal at a fixed 08:00 London time

Generation now runs as its own early step, decoupled from when the picks actually go live — email, push and the tweet now fire at the same 08:00 reveal the website uses, instead of going out as soon as generation finished (which used to vary day to day).

Removed the premium time-gate — tips are free for everyone

Today's tips no longer wait behind a premium unlock; every visitor sees the full card as soon as it's published.

Corrected and consolidated draw bias into a single source

Draw bias was previously computed slightly differently in a couple of places, risking two pages disagreeing about the same course. Now one corrected calculation feeds every page that shows it.

My Bets: total spend now shown alongside total potential returns

The running totals row previously only showed potential returns.

Added a Yankee to My Bets, on top of the existing double

You can now combine up to four of today's picks into a Yankee (11 stake lines — 6 doubles, 4 trebles, 1 fourfold), settled independently per line so one non-runner or one loser doesn't sink the whole bet the way it does a double. Fixed same day: the stake field was being stored as the total outlay instead of the standard "£1 Yankee = £11 total" per-line convention, and doubles/Yankees had no way to be corrected or removed once logged — added a Remove action on My Bets for both.

New: free Matched Betting Calculator

A standalone tool at posttime.bet/matched-betting-calculator — enter a back stake, back odds, lay odds and exchange commission and it works out the exact lay stake and liability to hedge a qualifying bet or a free bet (stake-not-returned), so profit comes out equal regardless of the result.

Fixed the homepage hero leaking evening picks before they're official

The hero's "N races analysed, M value picks found" line read straight off today's raw tip data with no readiness gate, while the picks list below it was correctly gated behind the morning run being complete — so an in-progress evening pipeline run could make the hero contradict the "today's tips aren't ready yet" message directly beneath it. The hero now shows nothing until the same morning-complete flag the picks list already waits on.

New: every course racing today, real draw bias side by side

posttime.bet/tips/findings lists every course on today's card with its real historical draw bias, sorted by how meaningful the gap is — linked from the homepage's "From the Data" card once more than one course qualifies.

New: Qatar Goodwood Festival 2026 guide

posttime.bet/goodwood-festival — five days of Group 1 racing (28 Jul–1 Aug), Goodwood's real draw bias (the largest gap PostTime has measured anywhere), and links through to each day's live tips as they publish.

New: real draw bias on every course page, and the homepage's first data-backed finding

Every posttime.bet/tips/[course] page now shows that course's actual historical draw bias (200 days of settled results, computed from real data — never model output), and the homepage leads with whichever course racing today has the most meaningful gap. The daily picks section is now labelled "The Experiment" and its headline pick moved below the honesty framing rather than above it.

New: evening edition — tomorrow's provisional tips, published the night before

A second daily pipeline run now targets tomorrow's card and publishes provisional tips that evening, ahead of the morning's live-priced edition. Creates zero real bets and doesn't touch the morning run's own publish flags — currently manual-dispatch only while a same-vs-different-pick drift experiment runs, not yet on an automatic schedule.

Homepage's "All AI tips" ROI now counts the same bets its own label claims

The settled-count next to the all-tips ROI figure was drawn from a different, narrower base than the ROI number itself was actually computed on.

Good-conviction each-way picks priced above the win-only value cap now get their own section between Value picks and low-conviction picks, instead of being dropped from the page entirely.

"I backed this" now accepts decimal odds and remembers your format

The stake/odds modal previously only understood fractional odds. It now accepts either format, switches its numeric keypad to match, and adds a £20 quick-stake chip alongside the existing presets.

Admin: full tip record browsable by conviction tier

A new "All Tips" admin tab lists every tip the model has made, filterable by conviction tier, with the AI's calibrated confidence shown per pick.

A reciprocal partner link now sits next to the results record, so a visitor doesn't have to take PostTime's own word for its numbers.

Homepage rebuilt around proof, not a pitch

Cut the points/CLV tiles from the hero in favour of a clearer visual hierarchy, named the actual deliverable in plain English instead of jargon, surfaced today's top value pick directly under the hero, and led Top Picks with ROI and win rate rather than a raw AI-estimate number.

SEO: cross-linked horse, jockey, trainer and course pages both ways

Jockey and trainer pages now link to each other, course pages link to the top horses/jockeys/trainers that have run there, and /courses was repositioned around the tipping-record query so it stops competing with /tips for the same search term. Newsletter capture added to /results.

Backfilled real Closing Line Value across the full settled record

CLV previously only existed going forward from when it was added. Backdated Betfair SP/BSP onto every already-settled pick so the CLV record covers the site's full history, not just what's settled since.

Fixed morning tip generation occasionally hanging with no timeout

The Anthropic client had no explicit request timeout, so a slow response could stall the whole morning run instead of failing fast and retrying.

Clarified our price vs. the market price on pick cards

"Our price" and the live market price were labelled ambiguously enough to read as the same number when they'd diverged. Also neutralised the drift arrow under BOG (best-odds-guaranteed) settlement, where a price move against you doesn't actually cost anything.

Fixed jockey/trainer names clipping on the race card

Long names now wrap instead of being cut off.

Collapsed going-change push alerts to one line per meeting

A meeting with several going updates could fire a separate push notification for each one instead of a single consolidated alert.

Added pick-card factor chips

Each pick now shows its objective factors (form, pace, draw, market move) as chips — one priority-ranked headline chip on the card itself, the full set in the Why panel.

Raised the token ceiling for competitive races to stop the model truncating

The largest, most competitive races were hitting the response length limit mid-reasoning. Doubled the ceiling (16k→32k).

Admin CMS: affiliate links, admin access, and bet corrections

Admins can now edit affiliate URLs and active bookmakers without a code deploy, manage who has admin/premium access, and correct or void a settled bet result (with a lock to stop the automated settler from re-overwriting a manual correction).

My Bets: total potential returns, pending-first ordering, editable stakes

A running "total potential returns" figure now sits under both My Bets and Today's bets. Pending bets sort to the top, a settled single shows its actual finishing position, and you can now edit a logged bet's stake/odds/each-way after the fact instead of only deleting and re-adding it.

The backing modal remembers your last stake and offers the live price

Confirming a bet now defaults to whatever stake you last actually used, and offers the current live price as a one-tap alternative when it's moved from the morning price shown on the card.

The drift arrow now shows on any real price move, not just big ones

A small but genuine shorten/drift used to show nothing at all — only large moves got an arrow.

Closed roughly twenty settlement, stats and results-tweet bugs from an internal audit

A multi-round review of real settled data found and fixed a cluster of related bugs: non-runners now correctly void (rather than lose) in every settlement path including the cron, festival meetings resolve to their real course instead of a generic key, win-only picks that merely placed stopped being counted as a "place" result, jockey/trainer ROI now uses the right stake basis, and several rate-limit/duplicate/ordering edge cases in the affiliate click log and results tweet were closed.

Fixed a multi-leg bet permanently stuck on a wrong result

A double showed "Won" using only its first leg's payout, from a since-fixed bug in how doubles used to settle — and because the fallback meant to stop a genuinely settled bet flip-flopping treated "we don't have this date's results loaded right now" the same as "pending," it could never self-correct once wrong. Each leg's result now carries real evidence of whether it's settled, genuinely still pending, or just not loaded this run — only the first two ever overwrite a stored result.

Fixed the drift arrow comparing against the wrong number

The shorter/longer arrow next to a pick's live price was measuring drift against a morning snapshot the card doesn't show, instead of the Model's Price number printed right above it — so a price could move sharply against what's on screen with no arrow to show it. It now always compares against the same number the card displays.

Horse pages now link out to their course, jockey and trainer pages

A horse's page previously only received links in, with no way to click through to the course, jockey, or trainer behind its recent form. Also fixed a retired course-page URL to redirect instead of 404, and stopped a handful of far-future, card-less race days from being submitted to search engines early.

Hardened the meetings schedule against this class of collision recurring

A new automated check now catches overlapping date ranges for the same course, implausibly long festival-style entries, and race days dated outside their own entry's range — the exact bad-data shape behind today's Ascot/York incident. Also fixed "Wolverhampton 2026" — an ordinary all-weather track mislabelled with a festival-style name by an earlier instance of this bug — renamed in place, keeping its existing card and tips history.

Fixed a misleading "No edge today" header

That header showed on every card in the section regardless of why, including picks with genuine double-digit market edge that only missed real staking because they were priced past the auto-bet odds cap — reading as a credibility problem, not the pricing detail it actually was.

Fixed a double's second leg not showing as backed

Tapping "I backed this" on the second leg of a double could fail to mark it backed, leaving My Bets looking like only one leg had been logged.

You can now log a double in My Bets

My Bets previously only understood single-leg bets. It now supports logging a double — both legs, settled together with the same win-only accumulator logic real auto-bet money uses.

The site now holds on yesterday's complete picks until today's are fully ready

Previously a visitor could land mid-morning while some meetings' picks were published and others weren't, seeing a partial, still-filling-in day. The site now shows yesterday's complete picks straight through until the morning pipeline is entirely finished, then flips to today's complete picks — never a partial day in between.

Fixed a schedule collision that clobbered Royal Ascot and York Ebor's real fixture data

Today's ordinary Ascot and York fixtures were mismatched onto the Royal Ascot and York Ebor festival entries by a fallback in the automated card fetch, silently overwriting each festival's real day of data with an unrelated same-day fixture. Restored both festivals' real data and fixed the matching logic so a festival's slug can no longer be silently claimed by an unrelated fixture just for sharing its course.

Auto-bet stops backing long-priced and each-way selections

A review of real auto-bet money found it was making +£98 across 76 bets at 4/1-and-under, and losing £155 across 42 bets at 9/2-and-over — the same inversion held on a much larger sample of every published tip. Each-way was its own leak: -£167 on 41 bets against win-only's +£125 on 97. Real money now stops at a 4/1 ceiling and never goes each-way, regardless of what the model itself calls — the model's own pick and bet type are still published as before, this only changes what gets staked for real.

A shared day of bets now names the horses

Sharing your whole day (especially before anything's settled) used to just show a bet count, no selections — not much use for actually telling someone what you backed. It now lists every horse, time, meeting, and odds, both on the share card image and the linked page.

Share your whole day's bets before they're all settled

The Share button next to Today's Bets used to only work once every bet that day had a result. Now it works any time — the card shows the day's settled figures so far plus how many bets are still to run, or just the list of what's on if nothing's settled yet.

You can now share a bet before it's settled

The Share button on My Bets used to only appear once a bet had won, placed, or lost. Now it's there for pending bets too, so you can send someone what you've backed today — odds, stake, and potential return — before the result's even in.

Fixed the /results share-card image rendering garbled

The card image X (formerly Twitter) unfurls when the results link is shared showed overlapping numbers and a cut-off stats box instead of a clean win rate / ROI / P&L breakdown. Two rendering bugs in the image generator, now fixed — it renders correctly again.

Every blog post now says what PostTime actually is

A reader landing on a weekly results post cold (e.g. from a search result) had no context for what "this week's numbers" even referred to. Every post now opens with a one-line explanation and a link to how the project started.

Shared bet results no longer push existing users to sign up

Opening a shared bet or day's results (/my-bet, /my-results) always ended with "sign up" — confusing if you're the friend who already has an account, or the sharer opening their own link on another device. Now checks: shows "See your own record" straight to My Bets if you're already logged in.

Breadcrumb trails added to course and race-card pages

Course pages and individual race-day pages (e.g. Wolverhampton Tuesday) had breadcrumb data for search engines but nothing a visitor could actually click — added the same visible Home / Tips / Course trail these pages already claimed to have. Also fixed a couple of pages where the on-page trail and the one search engines see had drifted out of sync.

Share a single bet, not just the whole day

Any settled bet in Today's bets now has its own Share button — sends a branded card (horse, odds, stake, P&L) with a link back to a page showing that result, plus your full record for the day so it's honest about being one bet among several, not a highlight reel.

Share your day's results

Once every bet you've logged today is settled, a Share button appears next to your daily P&L — sends a branded card (your W/P/L record, P&L, ROI, and how the AI's own picks did that same day) through your device's share sheet, with a link back to a page showing the full breakdown. Nothing is shared unless you tap Share, and you can remove the link afterwards from My Bets.

My Bets results no longer wait on the results cron

A logged bet could sit on "Pending" for hours if the race finished outside the 11am-10pm window the automatic results check runs in — even though the result was already known. My Bets now re-checks against already-published results every time you open the page, not just on the cron's schedule.

You can now log a bet after the race, not just before

"I backed this" used to disappear the moment a race went off, so if you forgot to tap it in time there was no way back in. It now stays available after the result's in — it's your own record of what you staked, not a prediction, so there's no reason it has to happen before the off.

Sharing a pick now shares an actual picture, not just a link

The Share button on a pick now sends the branded card image (horse, model's price, fair odds, market edge) through your device's share sheet, not just plain text. Falls back to a text share or a copied link on browsers that don't support sharing images.

Bet Checker results now have a shareable link

A Bet Checker result used to disappear the moment you refreshed — nothing to send anyone. Every check now gets its own link (posttime.bet/bet-checker/...) with its own shareable card image, so you can actually show someone what the AI said about a horse.

Signing up no longer loses the bet you were logging

Tapping "I backed this" while logged out sends you to sign up — but you'd land back on the page having to find that exact horse again and re-tap it. It now remembers which pick you meant and reopens the stake confirmation for it automatically once you're back.

Pace data now covers most runners, not just 32 known front-runners

Running style (front-runner / prominent / held-up) used to come from a static list of 32 well-known front-runners — every other horse in every race had no pace data at all, so the prompt's pace-scenario section and lone-front-runner angle rarely had enough information to say anything. Running style is now also read from the same racecard analyst comments already fetched for every runner, so most fields get some real pace picture instead of none.

Non-competitive races now get real reasoning time

Races outside the largest/most competitive fields (handicaps up to 11 runners, most non-handicaps) used to get a fixed 550-token response budget with extended thinking switched off entirely — almost no room to actually weigh form, pace and price. They now get the same adaptive thinking the largest races already had, with a bigger budget to use it.

Recent-form feedback no longer tells the model what to avoid

A jockey or trainer going 0 from 15 over the last 30 days used to come with an explicit "avoid until form returns" instruction in the prompt — a small enough sample, in a sport with this much variance, that it risked overriding a race's actual form/price case on noise. That data is still shown, just as information rather than a command. A separate dead calibration table (superseded by the tier-based one still in use) was also dropped from the prompt.

New: The Weekly Log

A new /blog page — a weekly written note on how the model's actually doing, drafted from that week's real results and lightly edited before publishing. Nothing invented: the numbers, biggest win/loss, and any filter changes come straight from the same data the Track Record page shows.

My Bets now shows "Same days, both records"

A new card on My Bets shows how the AI's own published picks settled on the same days you had a bet settle — two separate ROI/win-rate records side by side, not a verdict on which one you should have followed. Only appears once you have settled bets, and flags when the sample is too small to read much into.

My Bets P&L now labels its settlement assumption

Profit/loss on My Bets settles every bet at the better of the price you entered and the official SP — a best-odds-guaranteed (BOG) assumption. Not every bookmaker offers BOG, so your actual return can be lower on a bet placed somewhere that doesn't. The P&L summary now says so directly instead of presenting one number silently.

Fixed push notifications silently failing to activate on some devices

Tapping "Get notified when tips are ready" could show as subscribed even when the save to our server had actually failed — the device looked set up but never received anything. Already-subscribed devices now self-heal automatically next time they open the app; a failed signup now shows a clear retry option instead of looking successful.

Redesigned Value Pick cards — less cramped, more room to compare

AI estimate, fair odds, market edge and exchange price used to run together as one line of text in a narrow card. They're now separate labeled fields in a single full-width card, on both desktop and mobile, so the day's picks read like a comparison table instead of a paragraph. The desktop "Your Bets" sidebar was removed to make room — still on mobile.

Reworded pick and Bet Checker copy to read as data, not instructions

"Back at X" became "Model's price: X", Bet Checker's BACK/AVOID/RISKY verdicts became VALUE/NO VALUE/MARGINAL, and a few other lines dropped imperative "do this" phrasing in favour of describing what the AI found. Nothing about the underlying analysis changed — this is presentation only.

"Best price" now only ever means a price you can get through us

The AI's Back at X price and market edge % used to be based on the genuine best price across every bookmaker our data source returns, even ones we have no link for. It's now scoped to our registered bookmakers only, same as the compare-odds list — a price you're actually able to get by clicking through the site.

Fixed the linked bookmaker sometimes not matching the best live price

The bookmaker linked next to a pick's price was set once each morning and never updated, so it could point at a bookmaker whose price had since moved while others took over as the best price. It's now kept in sync with the same live data as the compare-odds list, and ties between bookmakers on the exact same price are now broken consistently rather than arbitrarily.

Removed a misleading "Best odds guaranteed" label

Top Pick cards showed this next to the linked bookmaker regardless of which bookmaker it was or whether it was really the best price available — removed rather than risk it being wrong.

Bet Checker's odds comparison now updates live

The bookmaker price list on a Bet Checker result used to only ever show the morning's baked-in odds. It now refreshes through the day the same way race-card odds already do.

Fixed Bet Checker sometimes contradicting our own published pick

Bet Checker ran an independent AI read on every horse, even ones our main tips pipeline had already picked — but that quick check couldn't see the market-odds movement and trainer/jockey stats behind the real pick, so it could occasionally tell you to avoid a horse we were actually backing. It now checks against today's published picks first and only runs its own independent analysis for horses we haven't tipped.

Fixed a broken Bet365 link

The fallback link to Bet365 (for when no tracked affiliate link is active) had gone stale and stopped resolving. Fixed to point at their homepage.

Added bookmaker odds links throughout the site

Pick cards, race-card runner rows and Bet Checker results now link through to the best available bookmaker price via a tracked redirect. Commission never influences which price is shown as best or which picks the AI makes — see the new Responsible Gambling & Affiliate Disclosure page.

Added a sticky header, a persistent Sign up button and a newsletter reminder

The header now stays visible while scrolling. Signed-out visitors see a Sign up button at all times, and anyone who hasn't subscribed to the daily tips email sees a small reminder icon.

Made the homepage hero more compact

Shortened the intro copy and the day's proof-of-performance line, especially on mobile, so picks and results are reachable faster without losing the transparency messaging.

Stopped publishing Racing Post's written verdict on race cards

The AI still reads it as input when reasoning about a race — it's just no longer shown to users verbatim, over a redistribution-rights concern with the data licence.

Fixed several bugs causing picks to show the wrong or blank odds

Exact-text matching between a tip and its runner could silently fail for horses with a country suffix like "(IRE)", leaving odds and Top Pick status blank or wrong. A handful of each-way tips also had their bet type and horse name mis-parsed when written inline rather than as a suffix.

Fixed course pages disagreeing with the homepage about the day's value picks

Course-specific tips pages used a looser, hardcoded edge threshold instead of the same qualifying bar used everywhere else, so a homepage Top Pick could show as an ordinary pick — or not show at all — on its own course page.

Fixed stale race-day cards being served as if live

Meeting pages could show tabs for days weeks in the past styled identically to today's card, and a handful of legacy date-based routes served a frozen meeting from an ended window. Both now only ever show current or upcoming days.

Fixed pages crashing outright during a data-provider outage

The Track Record page and several others had no error handling around their data reads, so an outage produced a hard error screen instead of the same graceful empty state used everywhere else in the app.

Fixed an open redirect in the post-login flow

A crafted link could send a freshly-signed-in visitor straight to an external site after login. Only same-site paths are honoured now.

Fixed losing bets showing without a minus sign

The account and "Your Bets" views showed a losing day's P&L as a plain positive-looking number (the colour was correct, the sign wasn't).

Fixed horse names splitting mid-word on pick cards

A CSS rule meant for pathologically long names was breaking ordinary ones ("Roxelina" rendering as "Roxelin" / "a") whenever they didn't quite fit on one line.

Fixed the "Your Bets" sidebar loading late on desktop

It used to render nothing until a client-side auth check and a second fetch both finished, visibly popping in after the rest of the page. It now loads server-side, in the same pass as everything else.

Added transparency-first homepage

Headline stats (ROI, CLV, settled bets, profit, win rate, longest win/loss streaks) now sit above today's picks instead of buried in a sidebar. Pick cards show fair odds and market edge, not just a bare confidence number.

Fixed international meetings leaking into tips

A handful of non-UK/Ireland courses (Saratoga, Hamburg, Los Alamitos and others) were slipping past the country filter and getting tipped. Replaced the old blocklist with an allowlist of known British and Irish courses so this can't recur silently.

Gave the model its own tier performance data

The AI's prompt now shows how its own STRONG/GOOD/MARGINAL conviction tiers have actually performed against the market — previously this feedback was frozen on an old prompt format and never updated.

Excluded MARGINAL-tier picks from Top Picks

The AI's lowest conviction tier has shown a negative real-world return. MARGINAL picks are still generated (for interest) but no longer count toward the tracked portfolio or auto-betting.

Fixed odds-blind confidence scoring

Confidence used to be a single flat number per conviction tier, regardless of price — meaning a longshot and a favourite in the same tier looked equally "confident". Confidence is now anchored to the horse's own market price plus the tier's measured edge over that market.

Uncapped the Top Picks portfolio

Every genuinely value-qualifying pick is now shown, staked and tracked — not just the top 6 by confidence. Qualifying criteria also tightened to match the exact bar a real auto-bet requires.

Replaced hard calibration cutover with continuous decay

Confidence calibration now smoothly down-weights older results over time instead of using a single hard reset date — so the model's read on its own accuracy adjusts continuously as new results come in.

Replaced raw confidence percentages with conviction tiers

The AI no longer self-reports a raw confidence percentage (which was proven to be a poor predictor of accuracy). It now picks a conviction tier — STRONG, GOOD or MARGINAL — and the actual confidence number is calculated independently from real results.

Added Closing Line Value (CLV)

Every priced pick is now compared against the official Starting Price once the race goes off. Consistently beating the closing line is one of the few betting metrics that can't be explained away by luck.

Scoped the whole app to UK & Ireland racing

Tips, calibration and the edge bar are all tuned specifically on British and Irish racing. International courses picked up by the data feed are filtered out end-to-end, not just hidden on the homepage.

Added trainer/jockey combo tracking and draw bias

The AI's prompt now includes trainer/jockey combination form and course-specific draw bias data, alongside the existing form, pace and pedigree analysis.
