Shady Bay's going and course figures look the tidiest of the rest but nothing separates her clearly enough from Just An Hour or Post Rider once you account for the drift on the latter and the sire-line going flags on Post Rider, so this is a field of unresolved fitness and surface questions rather than a bettable one.

What we said: Real Bullet ticks every box on paper — won last time out at this course, this trip and on this exact going, with both sire and damsire flagged for fast ground — but that profile is exactly what has him at evens, and my own numbers only get him to fair, not ahead of it; add in that this specific Boughey/Loughnane pairing has run 2/8 for -24pts against the market in my own book, and there's no case for putting money on him at this price. Wateera looked professional finishing third last time and drops back to a trip she's already handled, but at 11/10 she needs to beat a fair chance that's basically the same number the market already has her at, so there's nothing there either — the rest of this six-runner field are 25/1+ no-hopers with no case at all.

What we said: Sixteen runners in this Fitzdares Final is exactly the kind of race where no single case stands clear: Badri arrives on a three-timer (617111) with fast-ground sire lines and solid course/distance figures, but he's 9 years old shouldering top weight of 9-12 in a stiff sprint handicap, while King Of Light owns the best speed figure in the field and is being backed in from 9.5 to 7.0 despite a flat run last time, and Another Abbot, Trefor and Sudden Flight all have live recent form too — too many plausible winners at workable prices for one to be worth staking on.
